EXCLUSIVE: The Masked Singer‘s return brought the noise to Fox.
After seven days of multi-platform viewing, the Season 10 premiere drew an audience of 5.8M with nearly a million viewers coming from Hulu, according to Fox. Linear viewing accounted for about 5.1M viewers.
That’s up from about 3.9M viewers who tuned in on September 10 to catch the premiere live. Compared to Season 9 (which premiered in February), the Season 10 debut performed slightly better in live+same-day viewing, tallying a few hundred thousand more audience members.
For further comparison, Season 8’s fall premiere managed a similar audience to Season 9 with 3.7M people tuning in for the episode.
The episode also managed a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49, which is the highest-rated season premiere of The Masked Singer since Season 7 in March 2022. It was also up about 10% from last year’s L7 rating.
Fox is also touting this as the highest-rated unscripted season premiere of the year, excluding the post-Super Bowl premiere of Next Level Chef. So, it makes sense that the Season 10 premiere would perform well, considering it launched after an NFL doubleheader on Fox that drew over 10M people.
The Season 10 premiere brought several exciting surprises including the return of fan favorites like Joey Fatone and Bow Wow as well as Michelle Williams and Rumer Willis. During the premiere, Demi Lovato also gave a special masked performance as Anonymous.
The actual competition is set to kick off on September 25. Executive producer Craig Plestis spoke with Deadline about what’s in store.
