Elon Musk has been re-verifying dead celebrities on Twitter

Twitter has added posthumous blue checks to the accounts of dead celebrities including Kobe Bryant, Michael Jackson, Chadwick Bosman, Chester Bennington and more. The updates follow a promise made by owner Elon Musk, which saw him remove all legacy-verified checkmarks from the site on April 20, as a way of encouraging users to sign up for an $8 (£6) monthly fee. While the removal of the legacy-verified checkmarks sparked debates from multiple users throughout the entertainment industry — including Ricky Gervais and Jack Black — in recent days numerous high-profile accounts regained the verification symbol on their accounts. This was suspected to be part of a wider (but unannounced) scheme to restore verification to users with over one million followers.Among the famous faces who have had the checkmark reissued to their account are multiple dead celebrities.

Brent Lang Executive Editor “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” continues to be a box office high-scorer. It is now the highest-grossing film of 2023 at both the global and domestic box office, surpassing “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” (unlike that movie, people seem to have enjoyed this one). ‘The Mandalorian’ fans are criticising the show for its worst season yet

The Mandalorian have criticised the ongoing season of the show, labelling it as experiencing “a massive drop in quality”.Currently, the series is more than three-quarters of the way through its third season, and has been on the receiving end of backlash as critics and fans alike deem the episodes as being the weakest yet.Since the new season launched, user review scores have consistently plummeted and fans have taken to social media to discuss the “quality decline” in the plot. This is seen as user reviews on Rotten Tomatoes have plummeted from an average of 90 per cent to just 57 per cent since season three began.Although The Mandalorian was universally acclaimed for its first two seasons – as a result of its ability to deliver a family-friendly hit that also fared well with critics and received Emmy nominations – last week’s episode saw the series experience its worst week ever.Titled ‘Guns For Hire’, the episode featured guest appearances from Lizzo, Jack Black and Christopher Lloyd.

Zack Sharf Digital News Director With “The Super Mario Bros. Jack Black, who voices the villainous Bowser in the blockbuster, is already thinking ahead, telling GameSpot that Pedro Pascal is his pick to voice Wario should the sequel bring in a new villain. “It’s not a given that Bowser will return,” Black said. “You know, I did a few ‘Kung Fu Panda’ movies, and it was a different villain every movie. They may do the same thing.” “You know, what if there is a more powerful, more evil villain?” Black continued. “Then I may need to be turned to help Mario and the rest to defend our universe against some other unseen force of evil. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Wario! Pedro Pascal is Wario.”
