'The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power' Teases A New Legend From Middle Earth in Super Bowl Commercial

In what could be some of the most exciting news of 2022 for fantasy fans, the world has been given its first look at the new Amazon Lord of the Rings TV series - Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Super Bowl broadcast wasn’t just about football — with many viewers tuning in to simply see the TV commercials that aired in between the on-field action. NBC expected 100 million Americans to watch the event, meaning they were able to charge close to $7 million for a 30-second ad slot.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler reprised her role as Meadow Soprano in a very nostalgic Chevrolet ad. The actress, who played the character from 1999-2007 cruised down the New Jersey Turnpike in the first-ever all electric Silverado as the series theme song “Woke Up This Morning” by Alabama 3 plays.  After taking the same path from Manhattan to New Jersey as on-screen dad, Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini), the commercial takes another twist as Sigler is reunited with Robert Iler, who played her on-screen brother, A.J.

in the 60-second commercial, which aired during the second quarter of Sunday evening’s game. “The Sopranos” showrunner David Chase directed the ambitious ad, which recreates the iconic opening of the original show and rewrites its famously ambiguous final episode. In the original series, the opening credit sequence sees protagonist Tony Soprano driving his Chevy Suburban from Manhattan to New Jersey as the song “Woke Up This Morning” by Alabama 3 plays in the background.

The first teaser for Prime Video’s The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings of Power poses the question: “Haven’t you ever wondered what else is out there?”

Cue the song “Barbie Girl,” because Anna Kendrick, 36, is making friends with Barbie in ad for Rocket Mortgage that aired during the Super Bowl on Feb. 13. In the commercial, which promotes the company’s sister realty brand, Rocket Homes, shows a hilarious interaction between the Pitch Perfect star and Barbie. “I’m so excited we’re in the Rocket Super Bowl commercial together. I’ve always loved you since I was a kid,” a starstruck Anna says. “Not that you’re old…I mean, you look great. That’s not important I…sorry, Ma’am. Ma’am? Miss? I just don’t know what I should call you, sorry,” she adds.
