Star Wars and Harry Potter actor Warwick Davis, has died aged 53.Davis paid tribute to Samantha in a statement, revealing his wife of 32 years had died on March 24.The couple, who first met on the set of Ron Howard’s 1988 fantasy film Willow, co-founded the dwarfism charity Little People UK.Davis told the BBC that Samantha’s death “has left a huge hole in our lives as a family”, adding: “I miss her hugs.”The Life’s Too Short actor, who also hosted ITV game shows Celebrity Squares and Tenable, described Samantha as his “most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career”.He added: “She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes.Davis said that with his wife by his side, he felt as if he could achieve anything, adding: “It was like having a super-power.”“Without Sammy, there would have been no Tenable quiz show, no Willow series. AC/DC has claimed that he was the legendary rock band’s “best” singer.The former frontman was one of the founding members of the iconic Australian rock band in 1973 alongside Malcolm and Angus Young, drummer Colin Burgess and bassist Larry Van Kriedt.Evans provided lead vocals on AC/DC’s first official single ‘Can I Sit Next To You, Girl’ and it’s B-side ‘Rocking in the Parlour’. The Hives have been forced to cancel their Dublin show due to Storm Kathleen – but have announced a surprise Sheffield gig.The Swedish garage rock band are nearing the end of their UK/IE tour, where they were initially due to stop by Dublin’s 3Olympia on April 8.However, after receiving news of Storm Kathleen, the band took to social media to announce a rescheduled Dublin date. They also unveiled a last-minute gig at Sheffield’s Leadmill.“Bad news! Storm Kathleen means we are having to postpone our Dublin show at 3Olympia by 1 week,” they wrote on X/Twitter.

ABBA have marked the 50th anniversary of their Eurovision win with ‘Waterloo’ in a new statement today (April 6).50 years ago today, the Swedish icons, made up of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid “Frida” Lyngstad, won Eurovision after performing in the final of the competition at the Brighton Dome. In 2005, the track was chosen as the best song in Eurovision’s history as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the contest.In a new statement marking the historic occasion, the band said: “It’s slightly dizzying and deeply humbling to think that millions of you who saw us for the first time in the Eurovision final 1974 have passed our music on not only to one generation, but to several.“We see evidence of that every time one of us visits ABBA Voyage in London and it’s because of this we can celebrate the 50th Anniversary of that event in the knowledge that our songs still resonate around the world.”To further mark the occasion, Andersson has recorded a short piano piece called the ‘Piano Moment’ that will be experienced as if he were at the competition and playing live.
