West Side Story and Power of the Dog respectively, took their looks in opposite directions. DeBose wore a custom Valentino two-piece set in solid scarlet, with a defined bodice, voluminous pants, and a dramatic cape. Dunst wore a vintage Christian Lacroix gown made of a semi-sheer fabric rippled like an elaborately frosted cake.
And Aunjanue Ellis, nominated for King Richard, wore custom Versace: a sweeping, burnt red-orange gown with wording along the sleeve. Jennifer Garner, a regular on the Oscars best dressed list is doing it, too—a lipstick-looking, off-the-shoulder red column dress, with a neckline that is similar to DeBose's. Marlee Matlin, star of best picture-nominee Coda, went classic with a scarlet custom Monique Lhuillier fitted satin gown with a 1940s silhouette. Her costar Amy Forsyth wore a ruffled Marchesa one-shoulder dress with a high slit.
Tracee Ellis Ross strutted the carpet in an ankle-length Carolina Herrera in a more muted pinky-red. And Rosie Perez stayed true to her name with a stunning Christian Siriano dress with a slim train. Simu Liu, star of Marvel's Shang-Chi, joined in, rocking a tuxedo in about the shade of a red velvet cupcake. “You chose violence,” one ABC red carpet host commented, appreciatively.

Just like the rest of us, Chris Rock is still reeling from when Will Smith slapped him at the Oscars. In fact, the 57-year-old comedian doesn’t think he’ll ever be able to accept the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air star’s apology. “He can’t imagine forgiving Will, being friends with him. It is just a very weird thing to fully envelope,” a source close to Chris EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.
Daniel Radcliffe has never been more relatable. The Harry Potter star, 32, appeared on Good Morning Britan March 31 to promote his new movie The Lost City and was asked about the 2022 Oscar slap. Instead of revealing if he sides more with Will Smith, 53, or with Chris Rock, 57, Daniel made it clear that he’s over the whole thing.
Beyoncé goes, she always steals the show.Following a particularly exciting Academy Awards on Sunday, March 27, Bey and her husband, Jay-Z, made their way to an exclusive after-party at the Chateau Marmont. The songstress avoided being snapped by paparazzi at the after-party, but she did end up posting a series of photos on her Instagram days after the event.

Oscars co-host Amy Schumer has weighed in on the shocking incident in which Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on stage at the Dolby during Sunday night’s ceremony. In a post to her Instagram late Tuesday night, Schumer said she was “still triggered and traumatized” and “waiting for this sickening feeling to go away from what we all witnessed.”
Will Smith will reportedly address the punch heard across the globe on his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith's show, Red Table Talk On Sunday night's Oscars, Will, who later went on to receive the Best Actor award for his role in the biopic King Richard, punched host Chris Rock after he made a joke about Jada. Chris made a quip about Jada's shaved hairstyle and, despite initially being seen laughing, Will walked on stage and smacked the comedian around the face before angrily shouting: "Keep my wife's name out your f**king mouth." And after reportedly refusing to talk to reporters at the afterparties, it has now been claimed that the 53 year old will break his silence on the altercation of his wife's hugely popular Facebook show.
While ABC looks to cut live technical award speeches from the hard-working department heads, they don’t seem to be terribly concerned about the time spent on the multiple Best Song performances, which can be something many people still look forward to. Others might see that time spent could be reclaimed for the ceremony as producers keep looking for ways to shorten the runtime.

LIVE – Updated at 08:52This year’s Oscars featured shocks, sighs and surprises – but all anyone will care about is a slap. The Academy Awards took place on Sunday night (27 March), with films including The Power of the Dog, West Side Story, Licorice Pizza and Coda battling it out in the big categories. The biggest story of the night had almost nothing to do with the awards: a shocking altercation between Will Smith and Chris Rock sparked by a joke about Smith’s wife Jada.

However, while the critically acclaimed film — which memorably unleashed the power of the dong with on-screen full-frontal male nudity — did score a slew of awards before the Oscars, it was not nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for best ensemble, which is typically a reliable predictor of a Best Picture win.“Dog” did win best picture in the drama category at the controversy-ridden Golden Globes, which did not air after embarrassing public backlash, alongside “West Side Story,” which was top dog in the musical category. While given seven nods, Steven Spielberg’s updated “West Side Story” hardly shared the same success as the 1961 original, which took home more Oscars than any other musical has.
