Inevitably, the inclusion of singer Whitney Houston and rapper the Notorious B.I.G.

As anticipated, My Chemical Reunion’s December show at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, their first in nine years, was not a one-off, as America goes. Following the announcement of some European gigs, the group has also slated a month-long run of arena shows in 18 cities this fall, including a return to L.A. in a much less exclusive venue, the Forum.

The inductees were announced for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 2020 on Wednesday morning (Jan. 15), with Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G.

Between inspiring the artist to notch the longest-reigning Billboard Hot 100 hit of all time and providing Black Mirror with its perfect pop parody fodder, 2019 was a big year for Trent Reznor -- but 2020 is set to surpass last year thanks to the news that Nine Inch Nails will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on May 2 in Cleveland.    

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced the class of 2020. Whitney Houston, the Notorious B.I.G., Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, T. Rex, and the Doobie Brothers will be inducted into the Rock Hall on May 2. The induction ceremony will take place in Cleveland and broadcast live on HBO.
