Ashley shared the "incredibly tough decision" with his 1.8 million Instagram followers, revealing he and Safiyya had split a few months ago. Now Bianca Neumann, Head of Bereavement at the Sue Ryder grief charity has exclusively explained to OK! the effects that losing a child can have on a relationship.
She revealed that parents may "come together" after a child's death or be "driven apart" by it. She explains: "The death of a child is an incredibly traumatic and distressing event for any parent. It does not matter how old the child is or what caused their death, the impact that this will have on the parents is always devastating, heavy and significant.
"It can often be hard for parents to move forward. You may find yourself doubting or questioning what you thought you knew about the world around you, or reliving what you did or didn’t do in the lead up to your child’s death.
