The Dark Knight, A Clockwork Orange, Lilies of the Field, The Joy Luck Club and films directed by Ida Lupino and Kathryn Bigelow — two of a record-breaking nine helmed by women — are among the latest cinematic jewels chosen for the Library of Congress' National Film Registry, it was announced Monday.

Twenty-five films, including “The Dark Knight” and “The Blues Brothers,” have been selected to join the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry for 2020.

Unlike the Oscars or other annual awards, being selected by the Library of Congress as one of the 25 films picked to join the National Film Registry is on a whole different level.
