A survivor from the accident that occurred on the set of Netflix‘s The Chosen One is speaking out.
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that two actors were killed during an accident that took place during production on the series and six others, including cast and crew, were injured in the crash.
Actor Yeray Albelda, one of the six survivors, spoke with Variety and said he didn’t blame the driver or production company for the incident.

He explained that it’s the norm that “people are exhausted” in many productions. He went on to say he had been told that a mechanical failure may have caused the issue, while others have speculated that the driver was trying to avoid a pothole or a deer.
“For sure, long days and nights are the norm in most productions, people are exhausted,” Yeray said.
Variety adds that production has reportedly resumed on the project. Yeray, who plays a miner in the series, shared that he does not recall the crash itself and only remembers gaining consciousness in an ambulance.
“I was told that I answered questions but don’t recall doing that,” he said. The actor suffered a concussion and collarbone and shoulder fractures. Yeray added that line producer Rolf Helbig was by his side the whole time as he was taken to a major hospital in the city of La Paz.
Yeray remembered that the van driver was new, but that he hadn’t noticed anything out of the ordinary about the van’s condition. “I made my statement to the police and I don’t blame the driver or the production,” he said, adding that the driver is still in custody as the investigation continues.
