Just minutes from the M60 motorway in Salford lies the pretty village of Roe Green.
The suburban area of Worsley is known for its walking route and picturesque green spaces.
Historically in Lancashire, the village is the largest of Salford ’s conservation areas, chosen for its village green.
The green was formerly common land, used for grazing and holding stray animals until they were released upon the payment of a fine. In the late Victorian days, it was used for cricket matches.

At the end of the 18th century, the village grew considerably and many houses were built. Today the green is surrounded by rows of quaint terraced houses, cottages, modern properties and some local amenities.
The area is also home to the Roe Green Loopline, a walking and cycling route that starts in Monton and runs all the way to the border with Bolton.
This circular walk begins and ends in Monton village and follows the Loopline, the old route of the Roe Green railway line, before returning along the towpath of the Bridgewater Canal.
We visited Roe Green to find out what residents think about living in the area.
"Everyone is really welcoming and friendly. It’s so quiet and tranquil; I’ve lived here for six months, Mark Jepson, 34, said.
“I love the tranquillity. I lived in the city centre for 10 years and I was sick of it.”
Hannah Thomas, 31, loves the sense of community in the village and having the Loopline so close.
“I love the location and the green at the front and having the Loopline,” she added. “It’s nice to jump onto.
“We’ve got a dog so it's good to take the dog on walks. It’s just a nice area and it’s pretty.

Once he finishes singing his tunes, Parker says to him, “Are you born with destiny? Or does it just come knocking at your door?”“At that moment I watched that skinny boy transform into a superhero.

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost are giving Super Bowl fans a look into their relationship and home life in a new commercial for Amazon's Alexa. In the Super Bowl spot, Jost shows Johansson Alexa's game day prep, which includes dimming the lights, turning on the game, and even chilling some rosé.«It's like she can read your mind,» Johansson says, sending the pair into an alternate scenario where Alexa can, in fact, read their minds. They're seen in bed together and when Johansson starts talking to Jost first thing in the morning, Alexa says, «Ordering fresh mint mouthwash extra strength.»When Johansson rehearses a cringeworthy scene from a new play that's starting on March 8, Alexa says, «Setting reminder to fake your own death on March 8,» as Jost rushes to silence the device. In another scene, the couple are watching a romantic movie and Jost asks, «When you have to do those love scenes with hot guys, is that fun or is that the worst?»«It's the worst!» Johansson insists as Alexa plays Fleetwood Mac's «Tell Me Lies.» «It's probably better Alexa can't read your mind,» Jost says at the end of the commercial. Sarah Michelle Gellar has been posting about being confused with Big Sean at the Los Angeles Rams game on Sunday (30 January). The NFL team played against the San Francisco 49ers and won 20-17, securing their spot in the Super Bowl later this month.
Blame it on the excitement of the moment. As Los Angeles Rams pulled off the comeback victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday (Jan. 30), securing both the NFC Championship and a spot in Super Bowl LVI, the camera panned to the crowd to see which celebs were on hand to witness this win. The jumbotron displayed Sarah Michelle Gellar and her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr. …except it wasn’t Sarah, 44, and Freddie, 45. It was actually Big Sean and his date for the evening, Jhene Aiko. Sarah quickly pounced on the chance to poke fun at the blunder. “@BigSean, do you get mistaken for me as often as I get mistaken for you?” she wrote on Instagram.
