Michael Lewis is sharing his thoughts on Michael Oher‘s recent lawsuit.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the former NFL star had filed legal documents to terminate his conservatorship in Tennessee.
He alleged that Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy had lied about adopting him and claimed that they tricked him into making them his conservators when he turned 18. He also claimed that the success of The Blind Side meant that the Tuohy family made millions off his name while he never received a dime.
While speaking with The Washington Post on Wednesday (August 16), Michael Lewis – who wrote the book that The Blind Side is based on – said that none of the real-life figures featured in the film have gotten any money of it in the 13 years since it was released.

“Everybody should be mad at the Hollywood studio system,” he told the outlet. “Michael Oher should join the writers strike. It’s outrageous how Hollywood accounting works, but the money is not in the Tuohys’ pockets.”
Michael, who was a childhood friend of Sean Tuohy, went on to claim that Michael Oher began to distance himself from the family and allegedly refused to accept royalty checks from them.
“What I feel really sad about is I watched the whole thing up close,” he shared.
“They showered him with resources and love. That he’s suspicious of them is breathtaking,” Michael added. “The state of mind one has to be in to do that — I feel sad for him.”
In case you missed it, the Tuohy‘s recently revealed how much they actually made from The Blind Side.
