The Bachelor Summer Games are over before they were even officially announced. Network ABC and production company Warner Bros. have called off the planned Bachelor spin-off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Bachelor Summer Games were scheduled to film and air later this year as counter-programming during the Summer Olympics, the way The Bachelor Winter Games were for the Winter Olympics in 2018. The Tokyo Olympics have themselves been postponed until 2021.
The Coronavirus pandemic that has taken various parts of the world into its clutches, has resulted in many concerts being cancelled or pushed ahead. The highly contagious virus that originated in China's Wuhan city, spread across the globe in no time.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe declared a month-long state of emergency Tuesday for Tokyo and six other prefectures to ramp up defenses against the spread of the coronavirus as the number of infections surges. But the move came in the form of a stay-at-home request — not an order — and violators will not be penalized.

The Bachelor Summer Games will not be going forward.
ABC has made the decision to shelve its planned “The Bachelor Summer Games” spinoff, Variety has confirmed, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to disrupt the entertainment industry.
The new dates for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo have just been revealed. After getting postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic, the Games have been rescheduled to open on July 23, 2021 and close on August 8, 2021.
Update 3/30/20: We know now when the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics will take place, after the event was delayed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. On Monday, the International Olympic Committee, the International Paralympic Committee, the government of Japan, and affiliated organizations announced that the Summer Games will take place from July 23, 2021, until August 8, 2021. The Paralympic Games will follow from August 24, 2021, until September 5, 2021.
