The Apprentice viewers have suspected something fishy going on behind-the-scenes of the show after Francesca caught a fish by its tail. During last night’s episode, which aired on Thursday 27 January, contestants were tasked with creating a fish dish, and selling the products to high-end restaurants in London. One half of the team had to physically catch the fish and create the dish, while the other half marketed it, chose the recipe and sold it.
Francesca Kennedy Wallbank was one person to head to Cornwall to go fishing, with the team aiming to catch as much pollock as possible. Before heading on the boat, Francesca boasted how good she was at fishing and told viewers that she used to do it a lot with her family when she was younger. Francesca quickly took the lead on the boat, while Aaron and Nick struggled to pull their weight.Things were going well for her until eagle-eyed viewers spotted that Francesca reeled in a fish by its tail, sparking them to question if her fishing skills were genuine.
One person tweeted: “I'm no fisherman. But I'm pretty sure they don't come out the water tail first.” Another person penned: “'Watching the Apprentice and was surprised to see pollock being line caught by the tail!!! #Theapprentice #deadfish #setup.” Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter. “How cringey has this program become? Toe curling and unwatchable. Staged and scripted beyond belief. Fish on the line, caught by the tail is a completely new one on me!,” ranted another.
