Experts at Landys Chemist have listed services that chemists and pharmacists can provide to alleviate the load of the GPs. A spokesperson said: "Pharmacists can provide expert clinical advice and over-the-counter medicines for minor illnesses and injuries.
"They have over five years of training in medicine use and can guide you on whether to seek further help from a GP or other healthcare professional when symptoms indicate a more serious condition."

Landys adds that if your symptoms are severe or if you have any doubts, it's essential to consult a doctor or call 111 - or head to A&E if it is an emergency.
Pharmacists can help with over-the-counter medications and minor illnesses, but they cannot diagnose more complex conditions.
