After it was recently announced that Queen Elizabeth II's funeral will take place on Monday 19 September, many businesses across the UK have started to announce their plans to close on the day as a mark of respect. Shops and services will not be obliged to close on the day of the Queen's funeral however, with the government advising: "Some businesses may wish to consider closing or postponing events, especially on the day of the State Funeral, however, this is at the discretion of individual businesses." A whole host of major retailers are reportedly planning to close, including multiple supermarkets such as Sainsbury's, Asda and Tesco.

As the cost of living crisis continues to bite at our bank balances, many shoppers have been looking for ways that they can keep costs low when they are at the supermarket.
Despite inflation levels reaching record-highs recently, shoppers can still find lower prices when they are at the supermarket if they know where to look. Nearly every major supermarket across the country has a world foods section where it stocks a lot of cheaper alternatives for as little as just £1.
The 'hidden' aisle is occasionally forgotten about by supermarket go-ers, but it is a section where you can get a lot of cupboard essentials - such as chopped tomatoes, lentils, pulses and rice - for much less.
All of the items featured in the aisle come from lesser known UK brands as they are stocked from countries all around the globe, including Japan, India, America, China and Jamaica.
And with inflation levels soaring by 10.1 per cent at supermarkets and annual grocery bills rising by a whopping £533, every penny counts when you are getting in the weekly shop.
Which is exactly why many shoppers might think about switching out some big name brands for some substitutes that they can find in the world foods aisle at Morrisons, Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's.
To see how much the difference in savings could be, The Liverpool Echo scoured the world foods section at Morrisons to find out what they would cost when compared to the supermarket's branded items.
A bottle of Blue Dragon Thai sweet chilli sauce for example, found in the condiment aisle, is £2.50 for a 380g bottle (£0.59p per 100ml). Whereas the lesser-known brand in the world foods aisle, Healthy Boy sweet chilli sauce, is £2.25 for 750ml, or £0.32 per 100ml. Spice mixes can also be bought for £1.
