Salford-headquartered telecoms giant TalkTalk has put 50 jobs at risk of redundancy as it prepares to sell off a major division.
The company is splitting its operations in three as it gears up to sell its business-to-business division which has previously been valued at £150m. Possible suitors for the arm include Sky and Lancashire-based Daisy Group.
The firm will reorganise itself into three divisions: TalkTalk Consumer, TalkTalk Business Direct and the wholesale business, with a formal demerger expected to be completed by March 1 next year.

The move comes after TalkTalk was taken private in 2021 in a £1.1bn deal. Its B2B division was previously linked with a possible £175m takeover with Daisy in 2018 but a deal was never completed.
TalkTalk was first established in Leeds as a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse before being demerged as a standalone company in March 2010. It was then listed on the London Stock Exchange for more than a decade.
Earlier this month, the company secured a £75m boost from one of the world's largest investment firms. US-headquartered KKR is one of the main investors in Gary Neville's £400m St Michael's scheme in Manchester city centre.
In the 12 months to February 28, 2022, TalkTalk posted a turnover of £1.4bn and pre-tax losses of £86m. Its next set of accounts are due to be published by the end of November.
TalkTalk declined to comment when approached by the Manchester Evening News.
