A New York judge has shot down R. Kelly’s bid for an early prison release amid coronavirus concerns.
NEW YORK -- Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was ordered immediately freed from a Manhattan federal lockup four months early Thursday by a judge who cited his asthma and the greater danger he would face behind bars during the coronavirus outbreak.
6ix9ine just caught a huge break. As confirmed in court documents obtained by Billboard, the rapper, née Daniel Hernandez, will be a free man after a New York judge granted him a compassionate release in light of the coronavirus outbreak.
Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was granted early release from prison on Thursday, April 2, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. He will now serve the remaining four months of his sentence under home confinement and his attorney, Lance Lazzaro, told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY that Tekashi is “very happy to be out of jail. He’s looking forward to his future and having a second start.”
