Back in December 2018, Matty gushed over typewriters during the GQ segment 10 Things The 1975's Matty Healy Can't Live Without, saying: "I really like typewriters as well. I don't have one with me because that is really impractical," before the clip cuts off.
He continued: "And the thing is with typewriters and writing with pen to paper, there's a kind of element of commitment that goes with the ceremony of it, therefore, it requires you to concentrate a bit better. So I think it's important to have a book," as seen in the snippet posted by the fan.
Matty, known for hits like Chocolate, also shared a funny moment in the interview, revealing: "It's mainly like stories that I write about my dreams of being in love with other pop stars," while flipping through his notebook. It seems Matt might have had Taylor on his radar, with the pair widely-reported to have briefly dated in 2023 after her split from long-term boyfriend, British actor Joe Alwyn, according to the Mirror.
