Taylor Swift announces new ‘1989’ re-recording at emotional LA concert
Eras Tour at SoFi Stadium in California Wednesday night.“There’s something that I’ve been planning for a really, really, really, ridiculously, embarrassingly long time, and instead of telling you about it, I think I’ll just sort of show you,” Swift said onstage as the “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” graphic popped up on a screen behind her.The “Blank Space” singer also confirmed the album drop on her social media accounts.“Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you! The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27,” she wrote. Her album re-record of “1989” will feature mega-hits such as “Shake It Off,” “Bad Blood” and “Welcome to New York.” This will be the musician’s fourth remake since announcing her re-recording project in 2019, after a highly publicized dispute with Scooter Braun over the ownership of her masters. Since then has re-released several albums: 2008’s “Fearless,” 2010’s “Speak Now” and 2012’s “Red.”“To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane.
