Tasha Smith To Direct First Two Episodes Of Fox Drama Series ‘Our Kind Of People’

Mónica Marie Zorrilla Alana Bright will make her professional acting debut on the Lee Daniels and Karin Gist project “Our Kind of People,” a drama headed to Fox on Tuesday nights this fall. Bright joins previously announced cast members Yaya DaCosta (“Chicago Med”) and Morris Chestnut (“The Resident”).

Newcomer Alana Bright is set as a lead opposite Yaya DaCosta and Morris Chestnut in Fox drama series Our Kind of People, from writer/executive producer Karin Gist (Star, Mixed-ish) and executive producer Lee Daniels (Empire, Star).

Lee Toland Krieger (Superman & Lois, Riverdale) is set to direct the first two episodes of Green Lantern, HBO Max’s upcoming series based on the DC characters, from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Netflix has set the full cast for First Kill, its upcoming vampire drama series executive produced by Emma Roberts. Joining leads Sarah Catherine Cook and Imani Lewis are Lost alum Elizabeth Mitchell, Aubin Wise (Atlanta), Jason Robert Moore (The Punisher), Gracie Dzienny (Jupiter’s Legacy), Will Swenson (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Phillip Mullings Jr. (American Soul), Dominic Goodman (Better Things), and Dylan McNamara (Ambition).

Watching all the drama unfold with the British monarchy shows that the US is probably better served by not having a Queen and all that it involves. Of course, cynically, you can point to our celebrity-obsessed culture and show that maybe it’s not all that different than having a real monarchy.
