This year’s Tokyo Film Festival closes this evening with the world premiere of Godzilla Minus One, the latest edition in Toho’s monster franchise, directed by filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki.

Jonathan Majors case have revealed a previously unreported incident involving London police, which they believe is relevant to their domestic violence allegations. Majors was arrested on March 25 in Manhattan and is accused of assault and aggravated harassment following an alleged domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. In a new, 115-page filing obtained by Variety, prosecutors say they are attempting to get a copy of a London Metropolitan Police report from September 2022.

Indie studio XYZ Films has promoted Maxime Cottray to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). 

Conor McPherson, the five-time Tony nominee behind the plays Girl From the North Country and The Seafarer, has been set to adapt into a straight play the first novel and film of Suzanne Collins‘ trilogy The Hunger Games. It will mark the franchise’s first-ever live stage adaptation, and a fall 2024 debut in London is planned.

Leo Barraclough International Features Editor Sales agency Sola Media is set to present its new project “The Sloth Lane” to buyers at the American Film Market. The animated film, an addition to the “Tales From Sanctuary City” franchise, is described as “a story of self discovery, family and friendship.” Australia’s Like a Photon Creative is producing the film and Sola Media is handling world sales, after recently acquiring international distribution rights for the next three animated feature films in the Sanctuary City franchise.

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter London is volunteering as tribute to host the first-ever stage adaptation of “The Hunger Games,” a play based on Suzan Collins’ best-selling books and the Jennifer Lawrence-led blockbuster film franchise. Matthew Dunster (“Hangmen”) is directing and playwright Conor McPherson (“Girl From the North Country”) is adapting the live theatrical production.

The pair will star as The Emcee and Sally Bowles in a new and immersive production of “Cabaret.” The show, dubbed “Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club,” was a sensation when it debuted in London with Redmayne and Jessie Buckley. A Broadway transfer has been buzzed about almost as soon as the the production across the pond was first unveiled.
