The Los Angeles Lakers have announced that fans that wish to attend the public memorial of Kobe and Gianna Bryant can register for tickets online beginning Friday. The memorial will take place at 10 a.m. on Feb. 24 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

As fans gear up for the public memorial to honor the life of NBA legendKobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, it has recently been revealed that a private funeral with only close family and friends has already been held.

After Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s tragic passing last month, Vanessa Bryant is opening up about the pain she feels since losing both her husband and daughter at the same time. “I’ve been reluctant to put my feelings into words,” she wrote in a new social media post. “My brain refuses to accept that both Kobe and Gigi are gone. I can’t process both at the same time.” Along with the message, Vanessa shared a video of Kobe and Gianna during their time together at the Mamba Sports Academy.

Making the occasion even more special is the date. The service will be held on February 24. Vanessa Bryant is set to receive a special gift from the Staples Center. On Sunday, February 3, workers at the arena began dismantling the makeshift memorial created by fans left in honor of Kobe and Gianna Bryant.

Kobe Bryant, 41, was a Los Angeles Lakers legend, and the team is beyond heartbroken after he and his daughter, Gianna Bryant, 13, died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26.

Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, sadly lost their lives to “blunt trauma,” the Los Angeles County coroner’s office announced on Jan. 29. That was the same official cause of death listed for the seven other people on-board Kobe’s S-76B helicopter that crashed near Calabasas, CA on Jan. 26, according to the coroner’s office. The manner of these sudden and tragic deaths were certified as an “accident.”
