Thanks to a last-minute change of heart from Shiv (Sarah Snook) during the tense boardroom vote, GoJo now owns the media company, and GoJo CEO Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård) has anointed Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) as its American CEO. While in practice the deal will likely involve, by Matsson’s own admissions, a lot of dirty work with very little input, Tom is thrilled to take the crown. According to series creator Jesse Armstrong, it was a natural choice.

The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.” It is based on the podcast “Boomtown.” Randolph will star as Ainsley Norris, described as “the wild and strong-willed seventeen-year-old daughter of Tommy Norris (Thornton).” Lofland will play Cooper Norris, “Tommy’s son, who is new to the demanding work in the oil and gas fields of west Texas.” Larter will play Angela, Tommy’s ex-wife.

Succession actor Fisher Stevens has revealed that he’s written a spin-off focusing on his character, Hugo Baker.Stevens has portrayed Hugo, an executive at the fictional Waystar RoyCo company, in seasons two, three and four of the HBO series.Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor said he wrote an unofficial story about Hugo’s future, with the show coming to an end later this month with the conclusion of the fourth and final season.“I do that whenever I get a part. Succession fans are still reeling from the surprise death of Logan Roy (Brian Cox) in season four.In episode three, titled Connor’s Wedding, the Waystar RoyCo CEO departed on a flight to Sweden with some of his closest advisors to negotiate a new deal with Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård), while Logan’s children Roman (Kieran Culkin), Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Kendall (Jeremy Strong) attended their brother Connor’s (Alan Ruck) wedding on a cruise ship in New York.While Connor was hopeful his father would make time for a fly-by visit, Roman, Kendall and Shiv were soon informed by Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) over the phone that Logan had fallen ill during the flight and was unresponsive.After some emotional final goodbyes over the phone, Logan was later pronounced dead when the private plane landed back on US soil. Roman, Kendall and Shiv were then faced with issuing a statement to the press and the ramifications of Logan’s death on the future of Waystar RoyCo.Since then, we’ve seen Kendall and Roman step up as the new co-CEO’s of the company, with Shiv having an unofficial (yet equally important) role behind the scenes.
