A much-loved student who developed a 'fixation' with his diet and food, died after he was hit by a train, an inquest was told.
William Mathews' mental health had deteriorated in the months leading up to his death, his parents said, and he had been admitted to a hospital unit.
The inquest heard he ate mashed-up greens and fruits, didn't think he needed protein in his diet and believed what he read on foreign websites and in certain textbooks.
