Stuart Milk Praises Protests Against Police Brutality

Jon Stewart spoke about the ongoing protests against police brutality as well as Donald Trump’s handling of the situation amid the coronavirus pandemic in a lengthy new interview.

A&E Network has decided to cancel “Live P.D.” amid the nationwide protests against police brutality. In a statement given to ET, the network says it will cease production and try to find ways to better tell the stories of the community and police officers.

A&E has followed suit with Paramount Network and cancelled their own police show, Live P.D.

Tom Arnold called for “liberal men” to exercise their Second Amendment rights on unmarked law enforcement in Washington D.C. The actor took to Twitter to encourage violence from people protesting police brutality in the wake of the death of George Floyd, who died May 25 in police custody in Minneapolis, Minn.

Trevor Noah slammed police brutality on Monday’s “The Daily Show”.

As protests continue around the globe in response to the murder of George Floyd at the hands of four Minneapolis police officers, some popular Sesame Street characters joined CNN’s Van Jones and Erica Hill and a group of experts to address the problem of racism and discuss how to fight against it.

Cops, and the similar law enforcement show Live PD have been pulled off the air, Variety reported Friday. A&E decided not to run new episodes of Live PD; Cops runs on Paramount and was about to begin airing Season 33 on Monday. Cops is no longer mentioned anywhere on the channel's website and appears to suspended indefinitely.

As acts of police violence have played out across social media and the nightly news, audiences have begun to rethink their relationship with cop movies. On Monday, critic Kathryn VanArendonk dug into the ironclad relationship television companies have formed with pro-police narratives.

Jaime King says that she was arrested on Tuesday, June 2, while protesting in Los Angeles in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Many celebrities are joining the nationwide protests sparked by the May 25 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minn. Across the country, people have been protesting against police brutality, specifically against the black community, in the wake of a shocking video that shows Floyd being taken into custody by an officer who places his knee on his neck.

An old, yet sadly timely episode of Black-ish is airing again.
