Strictly Come Dancing's reigning champion Rose Ayling-Ellis was greeted with a special reunion as it was revealed she had teamed up with her former professional dancer partner Giovanni Pernice for Comic Relief. The pair last danced together during the competition's live tour, which finished its run in London's O2 Arena a month ago. Rose, 27, and Giovanni, 31, who recently showed a poignant photo he has framed of their silent dance on his shelf at home, won the Glitterball trophy every single tour appearance as they travelled around the country with lots of the other Strictly stars.
Now, they're sprinkling a little bit more of their dance magic as they get set to partner once more for this Friday's (March 18) Comic Relief on BBC One. Sharing the news on his Instagram page, Sicilian dancer Giovanni posted an adorable video of him and Rose together again.
"Wait and see. I am on my way to something very special," he teased at first. Entering a dance studio, Giovanni then spotted the EastEnders actress as she beamed and ran towards him, excitement all over her face.
Rose looked poised and ready to train as she donned a pair of workout leggings and a baggy sweatshirt for the session, trainers on her feet. "Halllooooo!!!" the ballroom pro then captioned the clip. It wasn't long before the adorable duo were back to their old tricks, teasing and joking with each other in the studio.
"I forgot... the dance," Rose declared mock-seriously as she changed into her ballroom heels. "No you haven't," Giovanni insisted, as Rose nodded: "I forgot everything." Become an OK! VIP and see all our exclusives - for free! Become an OK!
