Strictly Come Dancing winner Rose Ayling-Ellis has dazzled on the dancefloor over the past three months while breaking boundaries with pro partner Giovanni Pernice.

Rose Ayling-Ellis, the actress who this year became the first deaf contestant on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, is now also the first deaf winner of the British dance competition series, after triumphing in its 19th season.

The Great British Bake Off’s John Whaite and his professional dance partner Johannes Radebe were Strictly Come Dancing’s first same-sex couple, and made it all the way to the competition final. Johannes, 34, first joined Strictly in 2018 and had always been partnered up with female celebs – until this year.
