‘Strange Planet’: Dan Harmon & Nathan Pyle’s Adult Animated Series Gets Apple Premiere Date

What if you went every day saying the inside things you’re not supposed to say out loud? That’s kinda what it’s like to exist in “Strange Planet.” As seen in the trailer for “Strange Planet,” the new Apple TV+ adult animated series takes place in a world very similar to our own but filled with blue alien-looking beings instead of humans. But they still exist in a world that has coffee shops, air travel, dogs, etc… The big difference is that these beings lack the awareness to keep things inside.

Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon could fill every seat at their San Diego Comic-Con panels with eager fans hungry for any tiny detail about the animated series with a cult-like following. While this year’s panel in the Hilton Bayfront’s Indigo Ballroom was once again packed, there was an air of uncertainty regarding the series’ future as the panelists were hesitant to give many (if any) details on what’s next for their space odyssey. In January of 2023, Adult Swim terminated their relationship with Roiland, who also voiced the titular characters, after he was charged with domestic violence. “Adult Swim has ended its association with Justin Roiland,” the network said in a statement. Hulu also dropped him from “Solar Opposites,” which he co-created, and “Koala Man.” The charges against Roiland were dismissed in March.

Lazarus, a new series from Cowboy Bebop creator Shinichirō Watanabe.Per a report from Variety, Lazarus has been picked up for released on Toonami, though a release date has yet to be announced. The upcoming animated series is currently in production with MAPPA (Attack On Titan, Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen) on animation duties.Also contributing to the series is John Wick series director Chad Stahelski, who Variety reports has “designed several action sequences for the series”.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Dan Harmon’s new animated series “Krapopolis” has set its long-awaited premiere date at Fox. The series will debut with a special two-episode preview on Sunday, Sept. 24 immediately following the NFL doubleheader that night. Fox has not announced its full fall schedule at the time of this publishing, but the network says that “Krapopolis” will make its regular timeslot premiere on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 8:30 pm ET/PT as part of the network’s “Animation Domination” block. “The Simpsons” will lead into the new show at 8 pm, followed by “Bob’s Burgers” at 9 pm and “Family Guy” at 9:30 pm.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has gotten its Peacock premiere date following a hugely successful run in theaters, the streamer announced on Thursday. Netflix has confirmed that Sex Education is ending after season 4.

Netflix has also released the first teaser trailer for the new season, which can be seen below.
