Every good ship needs a crew, and the team behind Star Trek: Picard has assembled quite the team. Not only are Hollywood heavyweights Alex Kurztman and Akiva Goldsman on-board as producers, they also have a writing team led by sci-fi extraordinaires Michael Chabon and Kirsten Beyer. We sat down with the four of them to discuss some of the joys and challenges of assembling the rest of the team to make Star Trek: Picard take flight.

Sir Patrick Stewart stopped by The View on Wednesday morning to promote the series premiere of Star Trek: Picard and turned his visit into a very special moment for View co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who recurred on Star Trek: The Next Generation with Stewart over 30 years ago.

“Star Trek: Picard” actor Sir Patrick Stewart himself landed the newest cast member for Season 2: Whoopi Goldberg.
Whoopi Goldberg has accepted an invitation to return to the Star Trek universe to join her old pal Sir Patrick Stewart in his new spinoff series.
In an emotional moment on Wednesday’s episode of “The View,” Patrick Stewart invited Whoopi Goldberg to appear on the second season of CBS All Access’ “Star Trek: Picard,” reprising her character of Guinan from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”
“Star Trek: Picard” is at least a partial family reunion for the cast and characters of the 1987-1994 sci-fi drama “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”
“Star Trek: Picard” is beaming to a subway station near you.
