Stanley Tucci is looking back at his battle with cancer.
If you forgot, the 62-year-old Citadel actor secretly battled cancer after he was first diagnosed in 2018.
In September 2021, Stanley said that he was diagnosed with a tumor at the base of his tongue and since it was “too big to operate on,” he ended up receiving “high-dose radiation and chemo.”
In a new interview, Stanley opened up about his “brutal” battle, and revealed how much weight he lost during treatment.

“It was terrifying. My first wife [Kate Spath-Tucci] died of cancer. So when I got it, I was completely shocked,” Stanley shared during an appearance on Sunday Today. “And luckily, it hadn’t metastasized, but the treatments were brutal. I lost 35 pounds and couldn’t eat. I had a feeding tube for six months and everything tasted like you-know-what and smelled like you-know-what.”
For those who don’t know, Stanley‘s first wife Kate passed away in 2009 at the age of 47 following a battle with breast cancer. Stanley went on to praise wife Felicity Blunt – whom he married in 2012 – for her support throughout his cancer battle.
“I was so afraid but Felicity was very persistent and had to drag me kicking and screaming,” Stanley said. “I wouldn’t be around if I hadn’t done that.”
In another recent interview, Stanley revealed the one role he would never play again – even though it earned him an Oscar nomination!
