Specialists police officers have cordoned off land near Salford Royal Hospital in part of an 'ongoing search'.
Tactical Aid Unit officers and a number of police vehicles were pictured near the Ladywell Building off Eccles Old Road this morning (Saturday).
Photos taken at the scene appeared to show officers focusing their search on some large metal containers.

Police have locked down a road next to a holiday park near Castle Douglas as emergency crews deal with a serious crash. Cops were alerted to the incident on the A713 between Parton and St John’s Town of Dalry at 4pm this afternoon.It is unclear as to how many vehicles are involved in the incident.Traffic Scotland say that the crash happened just metres away from the Loch Ken Holiday Park.
Police have shut down a Scots road amid an ongoing incident at a river near Loch Lomond. Officers were called to the scene at the A82 between Crianlarich and Ardlui at around 8.20pm this evening.The Scottish Sun reports that a Coastguard helicopter was deployed to the scene earlier but is no longer there.
