Band opening for Marilyn Manson respond to backlash before deleting comments

Marilyn Manson at three upcoming shows has responded to the backlash against the gigs in now-deleted comments. In March, Manson announced his first live dates since a series of sexual abuse allegations emerged against him, opening for Five Finger Death Punch on a run of North American dates in August and September. Manson denies all of the allegations.Added to those are three headline shows, for which the band The Funeral Portrait will serve as the opening act. That band became the subject of criticism for accepting the gigs, and their bassist Robert Weston took to X to address the backlash (via Loudwire).“I’m sorry my band that has consistently played 200 cap venues for 7 years + has a chance to open shows in front of thousands of people and people wanna be upset by it,” he wrote, before swiftly deleting the post.“If you truly know the people we are and you know the grind we’ve been on, you wouldn’t be made,” he added.

ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin reportedly “demanded” for authority to terminate NewJeans’ contracts

ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin had allegedly “demanded” for HYBE to give her the authority to terminate NewJeans‘ contracts, according to a new media report. The claim that Min Hee-jin had asked to have the authority over the exclusive contracts of popular K-pop girl group comes from a new Yonhap News Agency report today (May 2), which described her request as a “demand” while citing unnamed sources from the music industry. The ADOR CEO had reportedly made the request after negotiations between the executives of the K-pop agency and its owner HYBE over a revised shareholders agreement had hit a roadblock around the tail-end of 2023. HYBE allegedly reportedly rejected the demand, calling it “too much”.Min has since confirmed that such a “request” submitted in a proposal to HYBE, but claimed that it was to “address unreasonable interference [by HYBE], an issue that emerged during NewJeans’ debut, and to ensure independent management of the label” in a statement. The ADOR CEO also denies that the request was related to recent allegations that she had planned to takeover control of the K-pop agency from HYBE.

Glastonbury Festival has clarified whether or not punters can expect the Euros football matches to be shown at this year’s instalment. The has been some debate from music lovers over recent years on whether or not the Worthy Farm festival should broadcast football matches for punters attending the event over the summer.Generally, organisers have opted against the decision, although some exceptions have been made in the past. Now, with the Euros in mind, the festival has shared a statement discussing the stance it will be taking for the 2024 edition.“Should England or Scotland’s men’s teams qualify from the group stages of this summer’s European Football Championships in Germany, their matches in the Last 16 of the tournament could take place on the Saturday or Sunday evening of this year’s Festival,” read a post on the festival’s website.“In previous years, we have endeavoured to show notable matches on big screens where possible, particularly on days before the main stages have opened.“However, with England and Scotland’s Last 16 matches potentially clashing with headline sets at this year’s Festival, the decision has been made that – as in 2014 and 2016 – should England or Scotland qualify from their groups, their Last 16 matches will not be shown at the Festival.”The post continued, explaining why they have shared the news so far in advance, and sharing their best wishes to the teams.“It won’t be known until the week of the Festival whether or not England or Scotland will actually play a match during the Festival.
