Naman Ramachandran Indian streamer SonyLIV has unveiled the cast and a first look for its magnum opus series “Freedom at Midnight.” Based on the 1975 non-fiction book by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre, the political drama delves into India’s independence movement, weaving together untold tales and critical moments from the era when the country’s then British colonial rulers partitioned the country into India and Pakistan. Sidhant Gupta (Prime Video series “Jubilee”) plays Jawaharlal Nehru, who became the first Prime Minister of independent India, Chirag Vohra (SonyLIV series “Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story”) Mahatma Gandhi and Rajendra Chawla (Netflix film “Looop Lapeta”) Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who became the first deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India.
The series is produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani for Emmay Entertainment in association with StudioNext and Sony LIV. Nikkhil Advani (SonyLIV series “Rocket Boys”) serves as the showrunner and director.
The series is written by Abhinandan Gupta, Adwitiya Kareng Das, Gundeep Kaur, Divy Nidhj Sharma, Revanta Sarabhai and Ethan Taylor. Joe Otterson TV Reporter The quiz series “The Floor” has been renewed for Seasons 2 and 3 at Fox, with host Rob Lowe entering into an unscripted first-look deal with the network. “Fans loved the first season of ‘The Floor’ so much that we’ve ordered two more seasons of this breakthrough game show with plans already underway to make our epic battle of the brains even bigger and bolder,” said Michael Thorn, president of the Fox Television Network. “It’s also been a massive win to have a huge star like Rob Lowe as our host, and both our viewers and competitors can’t wait to see him back in action.” Under Lowe’s new deal, he will develop new unscripted series for Fox that would be produced by the network’s unscripted studio, Fox Alternative Entertainment.

Leo Barraclough International Features Editor Sola Media has acquired worldwide sales rights to CGI animated film “Captain Sabertooth and the Countess of Gral,” the follow-up to “Captain Sabertooth and the Magic Diamond,” which Sola Media sold to more than 160 countries. Sola Media will present “Captain Sabertooth and the Countess of Gral” to buyers for the first time at the Cannes Film Market and will unveil first footage. In the film, best friends Raven and Pinky serve under Captain Sabertooth, the feared pirate and King of the Seven Seas.

One of cinema’s living legends, at 85 years old, filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola (“The Godfather,” “Apocalypse Now”) has finally made “Megalopolis,” an ambitious sci-fi epic he’s been dreaming of making since the 1980s. With the film set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival later this month, in a matter of days, French distributor Le Pacte has released the first look teaser of the movie.
Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster “Captain America: Brave New World” isn’t due in theaters until February 2024, but as you may have noticed by now, companies like McDonald’s are already advertising the film, and various pieces of marketing have revealed some early spoilers (beware, spoilers discussed below in this article).
