Six people could to go on trial in the New Year after a 17-year-old was allegedly murdered in Rochdale. Three men have been charged with the murder of Callum Riley in Heywood, while three other defendants are accused of less serious offences.
Callum was found with serious injuries in the garden of a property on Atholl Drive in the early hours of Saturday, September 17 last year, and died a short time later. All defendants appeared at Manchester Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Friday afternoon.
Tony Adams, 34, of Minshull New Road, Crewe; Dale Heywood, 25, of Windermere Road, Middleton; and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons; have all been charged with murder, section 18 wounding with intent, and criminal damage. All three men were remanded in custody.

Michelle Conaghan, 34, of Minshull New Road, Crewe, and Niomi Conaghan, 18, of Minshull New Road, Crewe, have both been charged with assisting an offender. Stephen Kendall, 24, of Newhouse Road, Heywood, has been charged with affray.
The three defendants were granted conditional bail. All defendants were not asked to enter a plea during the hearing.
They will next appear in court in August, and a trial was scheduled for January next year.
