British TV presenter, Simon Thomas has revealed that he and his 12 year old son, Ethan, resorted to therapy after the tragic and death of Simon’s wife and Ethan’s mum, Gemma in 2017. Gemma, who was 40 when she passed away, went to her local GP multiple times, complaining of night sweats, bruising and fatigue, but she was waved away a number of times, with doctors putting her symptoms down to stress.
She developed a bruise on her thigh in 2017 and her headaches became more and more severe, until eventually she was rushed to A&E, before she sadly died three days later, after being diagnosed with adult acute myeloid leukemia, a very rare blood cancer. Simon, 49, is currently working with cancer charity Blood Cancer UK, which was established after Gemma had died.

Simon has committed himself to spreading awareness of blood cancer, as he said: "Blood cancer is the fifth most common cancer and the third biggest cause of cancer deaths. "It takes 15,000 lives a year, pretty much 40 every day." He continued: ”People know the symptoms of breast cancer, “ "If you go to pretty much any football ground across the UK there are signs in the men’s loos talking about prostate cancer, but I bet if I went onto my local high street right now, no one would know the symptoms for blood cancer.” Simon candidly revealed that both he and his son Ethan have undergone counselling to deal with the death of their beloved wife and mum.
Simon said: ”We both benefited from having people to talk to and we both spent two years working with our individual counsellors. “Ethan’s counsellor was an amazing guy
