In a new interview, the 47-year-old Scary Movie actor revealed that received a sweet thank you note from Meghan Markle after he stood up for her against the tabloids.

While speaking with The Guardian, Simon recalled being approached by a U.K. tabloid to fabricate a relationship with the 40-year-old Duchess of Sussex.
He was offered $70,000 to say that he and Meghan had “hooked up,” even though they never did.
“I was broke as f–k! I really needed the money,” Simon shared in his interview. “But I’ll be on food stamps before I do that.”
To show her gratitude, Meghan sent Simon a thank you note that reportedly reads, “It’s nice to know there are still good people.”
Simon now has Meghan‘s thank you note framed in his home.
In an interview back in 2020, Simon first revealed that he was approached to make up this lie about Meghan.
“Nothing happened. We never even kissed. We hung out once in a very non-datey way,” Simon recalled at the time. “She was just someone I had met on a TV show and we got lunch. That was the extent of it.”
