Simon Cowell has reached out to his former The X Factor co-star Sinitta for help rebooting the defunct talent series. Once the biggest show on television, The X Factor hasn't aired since 2018, but music mogul Simon is now in talks to bring it back to our screens. Sinitta has now revealed that her 62 year old ex – who she previously helped in the Judges' Houses stage of the show – has been in touch to see what changes she would make to revive the format.
And the star, who once had a pop career of her own, wasted no time in revealing the recommendations she gave Simon. "I'm so excited about it and I have spoke to Simon and I think it would be great for it to come back. I need to hear more," she told MailOnline.
"He was kind of like, 'We'll talk next week,' so I don't know if he was just being evasive or if he was genuinely busy but I was like, 'Let's talk, what's going on?'" Sharing her ideas for possible changes, Sinitta argued that acts from abroad should be able to audition, and that the show should no longer air on traditional television. She added: "I personally think online would be amazing. I think for it to be live streamed online to make it interactive and international would be incredible because that's the way the world is now, yeah." The TV star also revealed she would love to return as a judge or mentor, as she hinted that the traditional judges might not be appropriate style for the new format, claiming the audience should have more of a say.
Perhaps we have Nicole Scherzinger to thank for giving the world One Direction.
One Direction fans may not argue over whether the band are behind the Best Song(s) Ever, but how they were actually formed on The X Factor has always been shrouded in mystery. What is known is that Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson entered the reality show as solo contestants, but failed to make it to the bootcamp stage. This was not, however, the end of the road for the fivesome as some behind-the-scenes magic meant they were put together as a pop band and, well, the rest is history.
Stacey Solomon is now best known for appearing on Loose Women and being a successful Instagram influencer, but she first found fame on The X Factor. The 32 year old, who is currently getting ready to marry her fiancé Joe Swash, appeared on the hit ITV show back in 2009 and came in third place, and has gone on to carve out a successful career in TV. Mum-of-four Stacey is now believed to be worth millions after finding fame and has gone on to amass a huge loyal fanbase on social media thanks to her relatable content.
Simon Cowell’s marriage. The singer, who previously dated Simon on and off for 20 years after they first met in 1980, is a trained minister and is willing to put her skills to the test as the Syco boss prepares to wed Lauren Silverman. ‘I am ordained so I could actually officiate if Simona and Lauren would like me to,’ Sinitta told Good Morning Britain presenters Charlotte Hawkins and Ben Shephard on Thursday’s programme.
Cotswolds, according to OK! It said that the Britain’s Got Talent judge was aiming to tie the knot in the UK in September. A source told the magazine: “They are trying to have the wedding in September, but that’s dependent on whether Lauren can have their new Cotswolds house completed in time - as this is where she wants to hold the wedding. “This is why Lauren is currently here in the UK while Simon is in LA.
Little Mix, One Direction and Leona Lewis. And with rumours rife that The X Factor is set to make its comeback after half a decade, there is one veteran of the show that has already reached out to show boss Simon Cowell in a bid to reclaim her position as judge, Cheryl. The 39-year-old former Girls Aloud star was on the panel from 2008 until 2010, mentoring winners Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry, and proving to be hugely popular with the public. In 2011, she hopped over the pond to star on the US version of the show, but left under a cloud during the auditions, reportedly due to her “hard to understand” Geordie accent, before returning to the UK series from 2014 to 2015.Unfortunately for Cheryl, getting her career back on track might not be quite as easy as she’d hoped, as heat can reveal Simon wants to make her audition alongside the likes of rival judge Nicole Scherzinger – and we’re told she’s not exactly delighted.“Cheryl is mortified – she feels humiliated,” our insider says.
When it comes to booking a holiday, the beautiful island of Grenada is perfect if it’s relaxation or zen you’re after. While the Caribbean island may be smaller than Scotland’s Isle of Arran, that doesn’t mean that the tropical destination isn’t bursting with things to do and see. With its cascading waterfalls, palm tree lined beaches and colourful seafront properties, it’s no surprise that the ‘Spice Island’ is a favourite among celebrities including Simon Cowell and Jennifer Lopez.
Sinitta thinks lockdown changed Simon Cowell's attitude towards marriage. The 62-year-old music mogul is engaged to Lauren Silverman - his long-time partner and the mother of his eight-year-old son Eric - and Sinitta believes lockdown has proven to be a turning point for Simon. The singer - who previously had an on-off romance with the TV star - said: "I think having a child, being a father, lockdown - it's the first time in his life he's actually been alone with his partner and in that dedicated, devoted family situation.
Although the X Factor franchise is best known for bringing fun and entertainment to fans all over the world, the music competition created by Simon Cowell has also faced a lot of tragedies since its inception in 2004, including the death of former contestants and their family members.
