.The X Factor has been cancelled after 17 years on TV, ITV has confirmed. There are no plans for another series of Simon Cowell’s iconic talent show, the broadcaster said on Thursday (29 July).
ITV, confirmed the news and said “there are no current plans for the next series of ‘The X Factor’ at this stage.”The show was created by Cowell, 61, and first aired in 2004. Through the years, 445 episodes have aired.
Cowell will work on a new musical quiz show called “Walk the Line,” in which musical acts will be given the chance to win large sums of money, as they perform to an audience and panel of judges–including Cowell, of course. The top two performers of the night will have to decide whether to go home with a cash prize or “walk the line” and compete again the following show, with a different set of performers.
