Disabled toilets have been left wrecked by vandals in Troon forcing them to close overnight.
Shameful scenes saw vandals trash the accessible loos next to the town's main beaches.
It is understood the vital facilities at both St Meddans (Troon South Beach) and on North Shore Road (Barassie Beach) were trashed over the past week.
Troon councillor Craig Mackay has slammed the 'utterly shocking' behaviour of those responsible after a trail of destruction was left behind at the council facilities.
Council clean-up crews have been working to tidy up the mess and repair the damage.
A picture shared by cllr Mackay shows wall panels torn off with paint splattered all over the cubicle.
Bog roll can also be seen ripped apart and lying on a pile on the floor, with a bin also tipped over.
Council chiefs have confirmed they've been forced to lock the facilities out with normal operating hours - meaning they will close overnight.
Councillor Mackay said: "I'm advised that the disabled public toilets at both Barassie and St Meddans have been badly vandalised in recent days.
"While these have now been cleaned and repairs to be done shortly, the toilets will be locked overnight for the time being to prevent further damage and in the hope that the vandals move on.
"This is utterly shocking behaviour and means that as well as vital facilities for the disabled being out of action, tight funds spent repairing these won't be available for other priorities."
A council spokesperson said: "Barassie and St Meddans Public Conveniences have experienced significant vandalism over the course of the past week and in order to minimise future vandalism, we have taken the difficult decision to lock the facilities out with normal opening hours."
