Asda has launched it's very own budget-friendly engagement ring just in time for Valentine's Day. The supermarket has unveiled its latest product to mark Valentine's Day next month, and it's priced at just £1. Those who are planning to pop the question on 14 February need look no further, as the engagement ring even comes in a romantic heart-shaped gift box.
The George Home Valentine's Engagement Ring has a simple silver-coloured band, with a diamond-style gem placed in the centre, mimicking that of a classic engagement ring style. Packaged in a red velvet box in the shape of a heart, the ring is perfect for Valentine's Day. Advertising the romantic gift, Asda wrote: "Share some love with this ring with matching heart box." Shoppers are divided however, with some finding the affordable product sweet while others weren't so sure.
One Twitter user wrote: "Just read that @asda launched a £1 engagement ring for Valentine's Day... I find that so hilariously British", along with a laughing emoji. Another amused shopper added: "I will take my 8 year old son to get one for his girlfriend, he proposed in the school playground the other day with a pretzel, I think she would prefer one of these!" Others were impressed by the box, adding that they'd pay £1 for that without the ring.
