A local convenience store has been left wrecked after raiders smashed their way in and then tried to tow away the cash machine.
The drama unfolded at the McColl's shop on Kenyon Lane in Middleton in the early hours of this morning.
The alarm was raised after shutters were cut with and people managed to get inside shortly after 5am.
