SG Lewis has announced his sophomore album AudioLust & HigherLove, the follow-up to 2021's times, with two new singles. “Infatuation” and “Vibe Like This” featuring Lucky Daye and Ty Dolla $ign are both out today – it's Lewis's second collaboration with Lucky Daye after the English electronic producer teamed up with the R&B crooner for "Feed The Fire" back in 2020.
Both of the new songs continue to tap Lewis's flair for retro dance tropes, a quality we saw with his two previous singles "Missing You" and "Something About Your Love." "Vibe Like This" glides along smooth house-pop and two nice performances from its guests (Ty has the hilarious line "Crocodile Birkin, I did it for Steve Irwin," which tells me that he wasn't following the purpose of Irwin's career that closely.) "Infatuation" is more disco-indebted with a pleasent ethereal quality brought in by Lewis's vocals. "AudioLust is the darker, lusty, infatuated, short-lived, and ego-driven version of love. The second half represents a much deeper, actualized, and fulfilled version of love.
Songs fall on either half of the record. I feel like I exist in the space between DJing and being an artist.
