After two years of enduring travel restrictions, Scots are free to roam the country once again, meaning there will be plenty of car trips this summer.
But for some, travel sickness can be a huge downside of long car journeys, and drivers who take car sickness tablets are being warned to be cautious before getting behind the wheel.
To help, the automotive experts at Leasing Options have compiled seven tips to prevent travel sickness on car journeys.
C.E.O Mike Thompson explained: “To keep busy in the summer holidays many families will be heading out on road trips.
"However, one thing that needs to be added to any road trip checklist is preparing for car travel sickness.
“Drivers should be careful if they take travel sickness tablets before driving as some can cause side effects that may impair your driving ability.
“If you do get behind the wheel whilst suffering from any side effects that impair your driving ability, you could receive a £1,000 fine for failure to have proper control of a vehicle or full view of the road and traffic ahead.”
Check out the list below...
Hyoscine hydrobromide is a medication taken to prevent travel sickness.
However, it can cause side effects which could be dangerous when driving. You should seek expert medical advice if you think you suffer from any side effects from hyoscine hydrobromide before driving.
If you do drive whilst experiencing side effects that influence your driving, you could face a £1,000 fine for failure to have proper control of the vehicle or full view of the road and traffic ahead.
Or worse have an accident and seriously injure yourself and others.
Talk to a doctor or pharmacist if you're not sure whether it's safe for you to drive while taking hyoscine hydrobromide.
