Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer “Sesame Street” parent company Sesame Workshop has named Dannette “Danni” Hill its first-ever chief people officer. In this newly created role, Hill will oversee human resources, leading a division that supports “innovative best practices and organizational excellence” for Sesame Workshop, per the global impact nonprofit.
Hill is based in New York and will report directly to Sesame Workshop president and interim CEO Sherrie Westin. The company has an executive search firm currently looking for a permanent CEO following the February exit of Steve Youngwood.
Mostly recently, Hill served as Schmidt Futures’ group vice president and head of people and culture. Prior to that role, she was chief human resources officer at Planned Parenthood.
Hill has also held positions as chief of HR at nonprofit org ChildFund, and as a Pfizer Global Health Fellow that worked with the Ministry of Health in Nairobi, Kenya. “Through her extensive leadership roles and accomplishments across a variety of organizations, Danni has demonstrated an expertise in optimizing the employee experience, recruiting top talent, and building an exceptional Human Resources team,” Westin said.
