Russell Brand is being investigated by a second UK police force in the wake of the allegations last month.
Thames Valley Police said a woman contacted the force two weeks ago with “new information” in relation to reports of “harassment and stalking,” while the BBC said Brand accused the woman of harrassment against him in 2017.
The BBC said it understands the woman reported her allegations to Thames Valley Police numerous times between 2018 and 2022 but no further action was taken. Thames Valley said it would be “inappropriate to comment on an ongoing investigation” further.
The investigation is the second into Brand following a Met Police probe opened in the wake of rape and sexual assault allegations published by The Times, Sunday Times and Channel 4 three weeks ago. The BBC, Channel 4 and Big Brother producer Banijay have all opened internal investigations, while Brand has been dropped by his agent and book publisher.
Brand vehemently denies criminal wrongdoing and says all relationships were consensual. He most recently said on Rumble it is “hard for me to be objective” about the mainstream media’s reporting on him “given events of the last week,” while thanking his followers for questioning the information they had received.
