Seattle police officers’ exit interviews cite lack of support, ‘political agenda’: report

A 31-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday after spending part of the night celebrating Joe Biden’s win over President Trump, a report said. MarQuies Demone Patterson, the father of two children, was shot near Cal Anderson Park in the city’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, the Seattle Times reported.

Two police officers were shot early Friday morning in Wisconsin by a suspect who then fled, according to a report. The officers were answering a report of a hit-and-run when the suspect opened fire, according to officials and local affiliate FOX6 News Milwaukee.

At least eight people were arrested in Seattle as people took to the streets to protest on Election Day, including demonstrators who were leaving nails in a roadway, according to police.  The Seattle Police Department said two groups were marching through the city Tuesday night, including one that was given public safety warnings for people to keep moving.

A man tried setting a Seattle police vehicle ablaze Thursday while officers were inside, authorities said. Officers were in a neighborhood near the downtown area when they were flagged around 2 p.m.

The King County Sheriff’s Office recommended this week that one of its detectives be fired for a series of Facebook posts that appeared to mock protesters hit by a car earlier this summer. Detective Mike Brown was placed on leave in July while the King County Sheriff’s Office in Washington state investigated the offensive posts.

A motorcyclist in Washington state was arrested Wednesday after fleeing from a crash scene, carjacking another vehicle and climbing a tree in an apparent attempt to elude capture, according to authorities.
