Sean Kingston has found himself in hot water as he was whisked away to a Florida jail following his arrest on May 23.
The 34 year old Beautiful Girls hitmaker is facing serious fraud charges, with allegations suggesting the price tag exceeds $1M. Last week saw his arrest, and by Sunday, 25 May, he was transferred to another facility where his mugshot was taken, according to The Mirror. His bail has been set at $10,000 for each of the nine counts against him.
But it's not just Sean feeling the heat; his mother, Janice Turner, is also caught up in the legal drama. She faced her own set of charges and was arrested the same day as her son, reports the Mirror. Unlike Sean, she didn't require extradition and went directly to the Florida jail.
After posting a hefty $160,000 bond, Janice was out of prison by Sunday. Meanwhile, Sean remains behind bars as of Monday afternoon, with no release date in sight.
The drama unfolded after law enforcement descended upon Sean's lavish rented abode.
Taking to social media amidst the chaos, Sean declared: "People love negative energy! I am good and so is my mother! ... My lawyers are handling everything as we speak." In the aftermath of the arrests, Officer Carey Codd told The Mirror: "Police in Fort Irwin, CA, arrested Kisean Anderson, aka Sean Kingston (2/3/1990) without incident on a Broward Sheriff's Office arrest warrant for numerous fraud and theft charges." Sean is also reportedly caught up in civil lawsuits, including a claim from Ver Ver Entertainment.
The firm alleges they installed an entertainment system for Sean, but he supposedly didn't cough up the $150,000 payment.
