On the first Monday of May, the 40-year-old actress made her return to the Met Gala at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art, wearing a look from the Versace Icons collection.The star looked stunning in the strategically-slashed cream-colored gown, with gold accents pinning it together. The look was completed with long, matching gloves and white platform heels.Hathaway even got a chance to reunite with co-star Jared Leto, who rocked yet another show-stopping Met Gala look, dressing up in a full, furry, white mascot costume, in honor of Karl Lagerfeld's beloved cat, Choupette.Hathaway last attended the fashion event in 2018 when she co-chaired alongside Rihanna and Amal Clooney.

J. Kim Murphy Adam McKay is partnering with Netflix again for his follow-up to “Don’t Look Up.” The streamer has acquired the director’s next feature comedy, titled “Average Height, Average Build,” which will star Robert Pattinson as a serial killer that looks to leverage American politicians to make murder easier. Amy Adams will star alongside Pattinson. She reunites with McKay after earning an Oscar nomination in best supporting actress for her turn as Lynne Cheney in their 2018 comedy “Vice.” The ensemble also includes Robert Downey Jr., Forest Whitaker and Danielle Deadwyler. Along with writing and directing, McKay will produce under his Hyperobject Industries banner with Kevin Messick. The film does not yet have an official release date.

A pre-taped message from Harrison Ford introduced an extended action clip from Lucasfilms’ highly anticipated Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny during Disney’s CinemaCon presentation here in Las Vegas this morning. Said the veteran actor, “Hello CinemaCon! Playing Indiana Jones all these years has meant the world to me. (The movies) have adventure and heart — and for some reason snakes.” In a charming call back to the original Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ford added, “Why did it have to be snakes?”

Attendees of the annual exhibition trade show were treated to the first-ever glimpse of Melissa McCarthy as Ursula in Disney’s upcoming “The Little Mermaid” remake, including a show-stopping rendition of the character’s signature number, “Poor Unfortunate Souls.” McCarthy didn’t perform live, but she came to Las Vegas to introduce a clip of the movie, starring Halle Bailey as Ariel. In the dazzling footage, McCarthy channels Tallulah Bankhead with pitch-perfect flair as the evil sea witch convinces Ariel to part with her voice. Sporting dramatic makeup and a short, purple-ish updo, Ursula whips around her tentacles and shimmies through the sea alongside her sidekicks Flotsam and Jetsam while belting the evil anthem.

That makes it the opera that filmmakers can’t leave alone, even as they tend to switch out the music: Its screen interpretations range from Otto Preminger’s Broadway-rooted “Carmen Jones” to Jean-Luc Godard’s daring, Beethoven-infused “First Name: Carmen” to Robert Townsend’s Beyoncé-starring “Carmen: A Hip-Hopera.” With the plainly titled “Carmen,” ballet star and first-time feature director Benjamin Millepied joins that club, mostly eschewing song in an attempt to conjure the material’s intensity through dance. He is only intermittently successful.

During a talk Wednesday at The 92nd Street Y, New York, the Oscar winner recalled being offered the role of Han Solo in “Star Wars.” “Well, I turned down ‘Star Wars.’ When I first came up, I was the new kid on the block, you know what happens when you first become famous. It’s like, ‘Give it to Al.’ They’d give me Queen Elizabeth to play,” Pacino said. “They gave me a script called ‘Star Wars.’ … They offered me so much money. I don’t understand it. It’s a family affair!  Reese Witherspoon stepped out to show her support for her 19-year-old son Deacon Phillippe at his new album release party.  The "Legally Blonde" star was all smiles and a proud parent to her child that she shares with her first ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. Ryan and Deacon both took to their Instagram Saturday to share sweet photos of the special occasion. "Awesome night w family & friends celebrating the release of, "A New Earth" by @deaconphillippe !!" the "One Life to Live" alum posted on his social media with a carousel of photos from the event.  The first family snap was of Deacon and Ryan posing for the camera, as his father wore a red cardigan with a white t-shirt underneath.

Reese Witherspoon reunited with her ex-husband Ryan Phillipe on Friday April 14 to celebrate their son Deacon's album launch. The former co-stars turned lovers split in 2006 and have two children together - son Deacon, 19, and daughter Ava, 23 - but the family came together to honor their youngest as he released his first EP, A New Earth. Ryan shared pictures of the "awesome" evening and thanked friends and family for supporting his son.
