Scots singer Rianne Downey has announced that she will be supporting Courteeners frontman Liam Fray at a special acoustic gig in Manchester this weekend.
Taking to Twitter and Instagram to announce the great news, Rianne wrote: "I am supporting yer man @What_Liam_Said at his hometown show this Friday! absolutely elated. what a hero. Another big announcement coming your way tomorrow. nice way to kick off the year eh!?"
And many of her followers flocked to the comments to congratulate the Bellshill singer on the great news.
One wrote: "Amazing!!!! Top work, Rianne."
While one said: "Great news."
Another added: "That's ace have a fab gig."
While one penned: "Amazing!"
The gig is taking place at the O2 Ritz as part of a series of intimate acoustic shows. The gig will raise funds for homeless charity A Bed Every Night.
The Courteeners official account also tweeted: "We're pleased to announce that @riannedowney_ will be Liam's special guest at this Friday's sold out Raise The Roof show at @O2RitzManc. All proceeds from the show will go to the Greater Manchester @MayorofGM @AndyBurnhamGM's Charity. #ABedEveryNight."
This isn't the first time Rianne has supported some big names in the industry, last year she supported Paisley singer Paolo Nutini, West Lothian lads The Snuts and has played at Scots festival TRNSMT.
