A Scot who filmed a sex attack on a woman then sent her the video has died in jail.
Prisoner Alexander Jamieson died at HMP Barlinnie in Glasgow on Sunday, August 21. The Scottish Prison Service confirmed the death of the 59-year-old earlier today.
As reported by Glasgow Live, Jamieson was found guilty of pouncing on a 56-year-old woman on various occasions at a property in Kirkintilloch and was sentenced to four years in prison at Glasgow Sheriff Court in 2021.
Police Scotland have been informed and a probe has now been launched into Jamieson's death.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Prison Service said: "Alexander Jamieson, 59, a prisoner from HMP Barlinnie has died on August 21, 2022.
"He was sentenced at Glasgow & Strathkelvin Sheriff Court in 2021. Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal. A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course."
Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
